After a warm welcome at the Colombo International Airport, Katunayake you will be transferred to the fishing village of Negombo, where the experience begins. Depending on the time of arrival, after unwinding from the jetlag with a dip in the pool or the warm waters on the Indian Ocean, wonder around the Fish market. Overnight in Negombo
After breakfast you will embark on a drive along the North west coast towards the low-land dry zone of Sri Lanka. The first encounter with the wild begins later afternoon at the Wilpattu National Park renowned for its lakes and exotic bird life, and an array of other animals. Sun set is indeed very special in the animal kingdom as some animals return to their habitat to spend the night, other prepare for their hunt to feast on the evening main meal.
The Night will be spent at the Mahoora Tented Safari Camp.
Waking to the sounds of the orchestra of the chirping birds, you will head out once again in to the wilderness of Willpattu by Jeep with a picnic breakfast. The park is also famous for it's the elusive leopard and if luck is with you, you may also witness a morning hunt.
Late evening, you will be transferred to Dambulla.

After breakfast drive though scenic countryside to Uda Walawe. The Uda Walawe national park was created to provide a sanctuary for displaced wild elephants. The highlight of this national park would be the gathering of the Sri Lankan Elephant that roam freely.

With a p packed breakfast embark on a Safari after a relaxing overnight at the Grand Uda Walawe Hotel. Amaze yourself with herds of elephants young and old and take time to study their behavior.
Late afternoon Leave for the south coast safari park of Yala.
Overnight stay at the Mandara Hotel Katharagama or similar.
The National Park has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Though elusive, you need to keep a close watch on the rock formations that dot the park and tree tops. The park also boasts of wild elephants, sloth bears, water buffalos, spotted dear, Crocodiles and a wide variety of birds.

After breakfast leave for Bentota, visiting the Dutch Fort in Galle en-route. A visit to a Turtle Hatchery is a must while a stroll on a boat safari on the river will enlighten the beauty of the waterways that dot the island abundant with bird life.
